World of Tanks (or WoT) is a multiplayer online tank shooter. You have a selection of tanks, and you drive around and shoot enemy tanks. The most common game mode is.... Standard. That's what it's called. You either have to obliterate the enemy team (the most commonly preferred method) or capture their base.
There are other game modes, but I haven't played them yet.
WoT is really good fun, it'd be better if people communicated, but no-one does. There is a 'Team chat' thing, but I don't know how you type in it (or even if you can). So if you're playing with your friends you'd probably voicechat.
Every battle lasts a maximum of 15 minutes, and it doesn't need to be longer. You normally die pretty quick. This doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the game though, as once you've died you can always rejoin another battle in a different tank.
You get credits and xp when you win a battle, and sometimes a little bit if you lose (provided you killed someone) and you can use the credits to advance your crew members, or buy another tank. I'm not sure what the xp is for though.
